10 Questions With Author Nadia Janice Brown, author of Unscrambled Eggs
Ten Questions With Nadia Brown, author of Unscrambled Eggs.
Dee Dee: Hello Nadia, you are certainly an author who Inspires. We are honored to interview you. Please tell us who inspires you?
Nadia: There are many people who I'm inspired by. I get inspiration from pioneers, from anyone who knows their purpose and have been successful in accomplishing his or her God-given dream and destiny. This includes people of faith, entrepreneurs, professional athletes, authors, my family, etc.
Dee Dee: What do you enjoy doing when you are not writing?
Nadia: In my spare time, I enjoy jogging and taking long walks in the evenings. When I'm not writing, I also love reading inspirational books or a good romance novel, listening to music, going to the movies, as well as working with authors.
Dee Dee: Do you have a motto?
Nadia: I've adopted my church’s motto, which is, “We're gonna win!”
Dee Dee: What are your pet peeves?
Nadia: My pet peeves would have to be: people who play God and can easily, without any type of regard, take another human being’s life (or any type of abuse of another individual). I also do not appreciate when someone habitually renege on his or her promises.
Dee Dee: If you had a chance to have a dinner date with anyone-dead or alive- who would it be? Why?
Nadia: If I had a chance to have a dinner date with anyone it would be with Jesus. I want to be like Him; I want to have His character; so it only makes sense to have the only person who has ever been perfect as my dinner date. There are so many things that I would want to know, and want to ask Him.
Dee Dee: What is one word that describes you?
Dee Dee: What is the best advice someone gave you?
Nadia: The best advice someone told me was that my financial success or lack thereof, did not determine whether or not my book added value to the life of readers. This advice was given to me when I was a new author.
Dee Dee: Answer this question: If I were not a writer I would be...
Nadia: Human resource director for a business, an organization, or agency. I like helping people; and I can see myself going in that line of work.
Dee Dee: What would you tell a person right now who wants to give up?
Nadia: I would tell a person who wants to give up to pray. I believe in the power of prayer and that in everything you should pray—that includes your business, career, and your writing. Pray over whatever you do. I've always done this, and it is something I continue to do. I also think you have to be a person of excellence in what you do. You may want to take a class to improve your writing skills, read more books, and write more. It is important for writers/authors to produce quality work.
Dee Dee: What do you want your legacy to be?
Nadia: I want to be the bearer of good fruit. I want my legacy to be that of someone who has helped (served) others, who lived selflessly and was a good person. And I want those values passed on to my children and grandchildren.
Dee Dee: Lastly, what is next for you Nadia? Are you bringing out another book?
Nadia: I'm currently working on my second manuscript, Genesis. You may read sample poems from both Unscrambled Eggs as well as my second manuscript at www.nadiabrown.com. I am also the founder of Author & Book Promotions, which is a book promotion service and promotional resource directory for authors.
